The playoff atmosphere surrounding the Montreal Canadiens continues to mesmerize coach Martin St. Louis and right winger Zachary Bolduc, and this postseason has been no different.

The Bell Centre is renowned for its electric atmosphere, as fans fuel their team's playoff run with a sea of red jerseys and deafening chants.

St. Louis grew up in Laval and has supported the Canadiens since childhood. He used to stay awake late to watch playoff games and looked up to legends like Guy Lafleur. 

"I grew up 20 minutes from here, and all my idols were the Canadiens," St. Louis said, as reported by Remy Mastey, for The Hockey News. "I was able to stay up late in the playoffs and watch the whole game."

Cut to 2026, the coach walks to every home game to feel the city’s playoff energy. With the Buffalo Sabres standing in their way, he has said the team and supporters feel strongly connected during the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Zachary Bolduc, who grew up in Trois-Rivières, recounts his emotional bond with the Montreal Canadiens. The 23-year-old is fulfilling his childhood dream of representing the team.

Bolduc previously played for the St. Louis Blues before joining the Canadiens in a 2025 offseason trade. Leading the Canadiens' bid for their first Stanley Cup since 1993, he reflected on playing for his childhood team.

"I grew up watching it, and now I have the opportunity to play for the Montreal Canadiens," he stated. "It's a dream come true. I'm happy to be here, happy for my family."

The Bell Centre and its booming crowd are famous across the league. Serving as a cauldron, even opponents have acknowledged its rousing impact.

Following the Buffalo Sabres' Game 3 loss, defenseman Bowen Byram was quick to praise the arena for bringing the noise.

"Probably the loudest building I’ve ever been in,” he told The Athletic.

With Montreal empowering its team's playoff charge, Tuesday's Game 4 could be another step in the right direction for the Canadiens.

Montreal Canadiens Currently Lead in Playoffs Round 2

The Montreal Canadiens are currently playing in Round 2 of the playoffs against the Buffalo Sabres. After three games, they are leading the series 2-1. The team has turned around a Game 1 loss and clinched back-to-back dominant wins.

With the Bell Centre also hosting Game 4 on May 12, fans will bring the same fervour that has accompanied their team throughout this postseason.

The Canadiens, meanwhile, might expect another physical affair in Game 3. The match saw defensive enforcer Arber Xhekaj clash with the Sabres' veteran Sam Carrick. Both players walked away with a hefty fine and no suspensions.

A 3-1 lead for the Canadiens might be enough to put daylight between the teams. The Sabres will face an uphill task of weathering an offensive onslaught and a feverish crowd — their season depends on it.
