Edmonton Oilers’ Zach Hyman Reaches New NHL Milestone

Zach Hyman, Edmonton Oilers winger, completed his 700th NHL game last week. His team was up against the Dallas Stars when he achieved this milestone.

This achievement is even more special considering the 33-year-old’s physical and aggressive playing style.

Last week, the Oilers took on the Stars in a regular-season game. It was an easy win for the Stars (7-2), but Zach Hyman had his moment during the encounter.

When he entered the ice, it marked one of the greatest achievements in his career. He completed his 700th regular-season game in the NHL (National Hockey League).

Hyman is a physical and gritty forward, known for his aggressive style. The way he plays carries a high risk of injury, yet he has managed to play 700 games.

This shows how hard-working and consistent he is. Reaching 700 games while playing in this style demonstrates his durability. His ability to stay healthy while maintaining a tough style of play is a testament to his professionalism and work ethic.

During the 2025-26 season, Hyman continued to contribute consistently to the Oilers. Despite missing the initial stage of the season, he scored 29 goals in 52 games.

Zach Hyman Battled Through the Injuries In His Career

As mentioned earlier, he is more prone to injury due to his playstyle. Recently, he suffered a severe wrist injury that kept him out of action until November 2025. There has always been a struggle for Hyman to stay healthy due to his style.

Still, he remained a key player on both offense and defense, scoring goals and adding points regularly. Hyman plays a tough style that can result in scores in the high-danger areas on the ice.

His presence on the ice provides leadership and sets high expectations for others, therefore earning him respect from both coaches and fans alike.

As of now, Hyman has 259 career goals, including regular season and playoffs. He has played 705 games till now. His stats also include 230 assists in the regular season and 33 in the playoffs. This season, he has recorded 17 assists in 52 games.

Hyman has been associated with the Oilers since 2021. Before that, he played for the Toronto Maple Leafs. His current contract will be valid until the 2027-28 season.

Maybe there are players like Sidney Crosby who have played twice as many games as Hyman, but the latter has had his own struggles throughout his career.

For Edmonton Oilers fans, this milestone is a proud moment, marking Zach Hyman’s place as one of the team’s most reliable and hardworking forwards in recent years.
