Erling Haaland crossed over into the hockey world this week, attending Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Vegas Golden Knights. The Manchester City striker later shared photos from the outing on X, prompting reactions from NHL fans.
Erling was spotted donning a Hurricanes jersey with his name displayed on the back. The Hurricanes reshared his post on its X account, adding a sweet caption.
"@ErlingHaaland is officially a Caniac," the Hurricanes wrote.
The Carolina Hurricanes have been pretty impressive with their game this season and are inching closer to winning the Stanley Cup. They swept the Ottawa Senators in a convincing 4-0 to secure a spot for the conference second round, while they maintained their impressive streak and defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 4-0.
In the Eastern Conference Finals, they faced tough competition and started the best-of-seven game series with a disappointing 6-2 loss but then bounced back with a 3-2 overtime win, followed by another 3-2 overtime win.
They won two more games and made it to the Stanley Cup Finals and are just one win away from securing the trophy. They are leading in the Stanley Cup Finals 3-2, with two games remaining.
Erling's appearance in their Game 5 was a boost for the Hurricanes fans, who were happy to see him.
