The Minnesota Wild finally looked like themselves again in Game 3 and delivered one of their best performances of the playoffs. Kirill Kaprizov led the turnaround for the side, helping Minnesota regain momentum and control the game from the start.

After struggling in the first two games, the Wild played with urgency, confidence, and physicality in a dominant 5-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche. Kaprizov constantly troubled the Colorado Avalanche with his speed, puck control, and creativity. He scored a goal and had two assists in the game. 

Kaprizov started the proceedings with the first goal of the match at 15:11 in the first period. He continues to keep up the good work and assists Hughes in scoring the second goal for the Wild.

Kirill Kaprizov also assisted on Ryan Hartman’s third goal for the Minnesota Wild, and the Wild stayed in full control of the game. The Colorado Avalanche never truly got back into the match.

Nathan MacKinnon scored one goal, but that was the only goal Colorado managed. Kaprizov became the star performer of the game with three points. He was the main offensive leader, scoring a goal and keeping the team’s attack throughout the game.

With this win, the Colorado Avalanche has also seen its first loss of this season in the playoffs. The series is still alive, and a lot is there to play for both teams going into Game 4. 

Other Star Performers and Factors for the Wild’s Win in Game 3

Apart from Kirill Kaprizov, there are a few other contributors on the Wild’s team. Marcus Foligno played a big role in setting the team’s tone with his physical play, hard hits, strong forechecking, and leadership.

His shifts became important momentum-changing moments because he kept pushing the game in Minnesota’s favor. 

Brock Faber, Quinn Hughes, and Mats Zuccarello also made key contributions by supporting both offense and defense at the right times. Goalie Jesper Wallstedt delivered strong goaltending and made important saves when needed. 

Overall, Minnesota played with heavy pressure, stayed aggressive, and made Colorado uncomfortable throughout the game with their physical and fast style.

The home crowd also created strong energy and boosted the team’s confidence, while the atmosphere pushed Minnesota to play faster and more aggressively.

Now, Game 4 will be played on May 11, and the Wild will look to square the series. On the other hand, the Avalanche should not forget that they are the best team of this season so far, and it is just their first loss in the postseason.
