The Minnesota Wild have officially announced the schedule and matchups for the 21st Annual Hockey Day Minnesota. The 2027 event will bring one of Minnesota's biggest hockey celebrations to the Brainerd Lakes Area. 

The team shared the news in an official press release and confirmed that Brainerd International Raceway will host a full week of hockey. The event will end on Saturday, January 30, 2027.

The celebration will end with the Minnesota Wild playing the Dallas Stars at Grand Casino Arena in Saint Paul at 8 p.m. Several high school and college hockey games will also take place during the week. Minnesota Wild CEO Matt Majka spoke about the importance of bringing the event to Brainerd.

"The Brainerd Lakes Area has always been one of the true hotbeds of hockey in this state, and we couldn't be more excited to bring Hockey Day Minnesota to the community in 2027. Hosting it at Brainerd International Speedway gives us a chance to celebrate the game in a setting that's as unique as the area itself”, said Majka.

As per the press release by the Wild, noted by NHL, Brainerd Local Organizing Committee Chair Brad Pieper also shared the community's excitement.

"We are beyond excited to welcome fans from across the State of Hockey to the Brainerd Lakes Area, Minnesota's home for hospitality, for Hockey Day Minnesota 2027."

He said they picked teams with strong fan support to help make Hockey Day Minnesota 2027 the biggest event yet. The event is expected to once again bring together local hockey and the NHL.

Hockey Day Minnesota 2027 features a full week of action

The same Minnesota Wild press release also shared the full Hockey Day Minnesota 2027 schedule. The event begins on Tuesday, January 26, with girls' and boys' varsity games. 

Northern Lakes will play Detroit Lakes, while Little Falls will also be in action. More boys' and girls' varsity games will take place on Wednesday and Thursday. Teams include St. Michael-Albertville, St. Cloud, Warroad, Bemidji, and Centennial/Spring Lake Park.

Friday's schedule includes Brainerd junior varsity games. Sartell will play Delano, and Moorhead will face Minnetonka in two big boys' varsity games. On Saturday, Bloomington Jefferson will play Brainerd/Little Falls in a girls' varsity game. 

Buffalo will then face Brainerd in a boys' varsity game. Fans will also watch St. Cloud State University play the University of St. Thomas in an NCAA Division I men's game before the Minnesota Wild take on the Dallas Stars.

The team also said fans will need tickets for each day of the event. Ticket sales will begin on July 20. Hockey Day Minnesota celebrates hockey at every level and continues to show why Minnesota is known as the "State of Hockey."

The 2027 event will bring another exciting week of hockey in Minnesota. It will celebrate the state's hockey tradition and bring local communities and NHL fans together.
