After a win in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals Series over the Colorado Avalanche at home on Sunday, May 24, Mitch Marner is crediting the team effort for the Vegas Golden Knights' playoff run with the media.

Sportsnet reporter Shawn McKenzie asked Marner about what has made the current Vegas roster a special group during their impressive playoff run. In response, the 29-year-old talked about how everyone in the roster, from attack to defense to goaltending, has come together to perform as one.

“I think we’re just getting everyone to buy in. Every single line is doing their job and doing their thing and contributing on the ice. So that’s what you can ask for,” he said.

On their journey to reaching the West Final, Vegas defeated both the Utah Mammoth and the Anaheim Ducks 4-2 in the first and second rounds of their playoff run, respectively.

Notably, after disposing of the Mammoth and the Ducks comprehensively during their playoff run, the Golden Knights are on the verge of doing much better against the Avalanche.

Following their come-from-behind 5-3 victory in Game 3 versus Colorado at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, the Golden Knights are comfortably leading the West Final 3-0. But still, Marner was humble in his thought process and stated that the job is far from done for his team.

“We still got a lot of work left to go. The next one is going to be the hardest, we know that,” the Canadian ice hockey star remarked.

Furthermore, Marner was far from interested in writing off Colorado despite their struggles in the West Final before heading into Game 4 set for Tuesday, May 26. He also wanted his Vegas teammates to rest and recover at home before putting it all on the line once again at T-Mobile Arena.

“Like I said, we are playing a h*** of a hockey team over there. We know that they are not going to just roll over. They got a lot of firepower. And they are going to come with everything next game. So, we got to go home, take care of yourself. Be ready for the next one,” Marner explained.

Vegas Golden Knights turned around a 3-0 deficit to beat the Colorado Avalanche 5-3 in Game 3

The Vegas Golden Knights had a horrible start in front of their home fans in Game 3 at T-Mobile Arena against the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday. They found themselves 3-0 down with 6:45 left on the clock in the first period.

Gabriel Landeskog, Nazem Kadri, and Jack Drury were on the scoresheet for the Avs early in the game.

After that, the turnaround began for Vegas with Mark Stone finding the back of the net just 19 seconds from the start of the second period. He opened the scoring for the home team in the power play with the help of a Mitch Marner assist.

Just under four minutes from that, Marner registered his second assist of the day with William Karlsson scoring off a rebound for the Golden Knights. With 7:14 left on the clock in the second period, Keegan Kolesar leveled it up at 3-3 by tapping the puck in an open net.

Kolesar had Colorado goaltender Scott Wedgewood beat with a tip attempt of Dylan Coghlan’s shot before it came off the post and fell kindly in his path.

In the third period, Vegas finally took the lead with 11:39 remaining when Tomas Hertl scored with a stunning backhand past Wedgewood for 4-3 to send the fans wild in T-Mobile Arena. Brett Howden put the game beyond Colorado’s reach by scoring an empty-net goal to make it 5-3 with just 59 seconds of play remaining.
