Nathan MacKinnon Leaves Fans Worried After Puck-to-Face Incident During Avalanche Game

Fans were left anxious when Nathan MacKinnon was hit in the face by a puck during a playoff game, leading him to leave the ice for a short period.

The incident happened during Game 4 of Round 2 between the Colorado Avalanche and the Minnesota Wild. His own teammate, defenseman Devon Toews, tried to clear the puck from the defensive zone, but the puck deflected and hit MacKinnon directly in the face from close range.

The impact looked serious, and MacKinnon was immediately seen in pain on the ice. This worried teammates, coaches, and fans. He returned to the locker room on his own for medical evaluation, and for a while, there was uncertainty about whether he would return.

At that point, the game was tied 1–1. However, he came back later in the third period and rejoined the game.

The video of the incident went viral on X, and many fans were concerned after watching it. The injury looked concerning, but MacKinnon’s return to the ice showed that it was not serious enough to keep him out of the game. It also brought relief to fans, coaches, and teammates.

Nathan MacKinnon contributed after returning from injury

The most impressive part was that MacKinnon returned after the injury and still helped his team. He scored in the third period at 19:27, extending the lead from 3–2 to 4–2. This showed his courage, determination, and commitment.

Along with MacKinnon, Nazem Kadri, Ross Colton, Parker Kelly, and Brock Nelson also scored goals in the game. Avalanche goaltender Blackwood made 19 saves.

MacKinnon played a key role in the win. The Colorado Avalanche won the game 5–2. If they had lost, the series would have been tied 2–2, but instead they took a 3–1 lead.

The next game will be played on May 13, and the team will hope MacKinnon is available again, as he is an important part of the lineup.

It will be interesting to see who wins the next clash. It is a precarious situation for the Wild. If they lose the next game, they will lose the series.
