The Tkachuk brothers are on the same team. After spending eight seasons with the Ottawa Senators, Brady Tkachuk was traded to the Florida Panthers, and with that, he joined his brother Matthew Tkachuk.
Well, that's not it; an earlier lineup projection for the 2026-27 season, shared by Gino Hard on its X account on Sunday, provided a glimpse of the loaded lineup, increasing their Stanley Cup chances.
The projected lineup shows Matthew and Brady joining the forward lineup alongside Anton Lundell.
The Florida Panthers were pretty impressive with their game in the 2025 season when they won their second Stanley Cup, the first coming in the 2023-24 season. However, the last season was a forgettable one as they even failed to make it to the playoffs.
They had a good start to the last season, winning three back-to-back in the beginning, and then wrapped up the season with three straight wins. Overall, a score of 40-38-4 failed to make it to the playoffs.
The Panthers now have a summertime blockbuster deal with the addition of Brady Tkachuk. The Cats had given away four draft picks in a trade to get the fourth overall pick of the 2018 NHL draft. This includes an overall ninth pick and 25th pick in this year's draft, a conditional pick in the 2029 first round, and a second-round pick in 2027.
Panthers GM calls Brady a "dynamic competitor" following the trade
The team's hockey operations president and general manager, Bill Zito, opened up about the trade while talking to the press on Sunday. He called Brady a "dynamic competitor" and reflected on his game while welcoming him to the team.
"Brady is a dynamic competitor and one of the most physical and relentless forwards in the league,” Zito said. “A proven leader and exactly the type of player we want in our locker room, he strives to make everyone around him better both on and off the ice."
Brady Tkachuk is coming to the Panthers with an excellent record of his own, which even included two back-to-back appearances in the playoffs. He had started his career with the Senators in 2018, but he made his first appearance in the playoffs in the 2024-25 season.
He played in six games and added four goals and assists in three. In the last season's playoffs, he played in four matchups but did not add any points, making his overall score in the playoffs ten games, four goals, and three assists.
But in the regular season, Tkachuk had made 22 goals and assisted in 37 after playing in 60 games.
