For the first time in the history of the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL), the PWHL Players’ Association has voted to share player salaries publicly.

TSN Sports posted salary details on X about the players' salaries. This is a big step toward transparency in women’s hockey. It also shows a major change in how the league values fairness, openness, and players’ recognition.

Until now, salary details were private, but this historic move now makes them clear. Ottawa’s Emily Clark leads the list as the highest-paid player for the 2025-26 season.

Emily Clark earns $126,090 and leads a very close group of top players. She sits just ahead because of her strong impact on Ottawa and her role as one of the league’s key performers.

Right behind her, Sarah Fillier earns $125,000 and misses the top spot by only $1,090. She continues to grow her reputation as one of the most exciting young stars in the game.

Brianne Jenner sits third with $122,003 and brings strong leadership and steady performance to the top earners list. Her long career in women’s hockey shows in her salary and impact on the ice.

At No. 4, Abby Roque is in the list with $116,699. She plays as a skilled and flexible forward who helps her team in many ways.

Marie-Philip Poulin is fifth with $110,216. She is one of the biggest stars in women’s hockey history. This also shows how strong and competitive the league’s top players are.

Mid-tier Earnings Highlight Growing Depth in the PWHL

The next group of top earners shows how balanced the league is and how much talent it has. Renata Fast and Hilary Knight are tied for sixth place, each earning $106,090. Fast adds strong defense, while Knight brings global star power and top-level experience.

At eighth, Gabrielle Hughes earns $105,000, the same as Megan Keller, who also takes $105,000. Both show the strong mix of new and experienced defenders in the league.

The top 10 is completed by Kendall Coyne Schofield at $100,785.50. She is the only player with cents in her salary, which makes the list stand out even more and highlights her role as a top leader and skater.

This first public salary disclosure marks a new era for the PWHL. It increases transparency and strengthens talks about pay fairness in women’s professional sports.

The close salary range between top players also shows a strong balance in the league.
