Seth Jarvis helped the Carolina Hurricanes win the Stanley Cup, but one surprising moment during the celebrations caught fans' attention. Many people noticed a dent in the Stanley Cup during the parade in Raleigh and wanted to know how it happened.

The question came after Carolina beat the Vegas Golden Knights in six games to win the 2026 Stanley Cup. Thousands of fans filled the streets of downtown Raleigh to celebrate the championship, creating many special memories—and possibly leaving a small dent in the trophy.

During the parade, Jarvis was asked directly if the Stanley Cup already had the dent before the Hurricanes received it.

“That wasn't pre-dented, no,” Jarvis said. “They do a good job with the Cup. And I mean, in all the mix of the celebration, something's bound to happen. I'm sure they can get that fixed, it's not too bad. But still the Stanley Cup, still no.”

Seth Jarvis made it clear that the dent happened during the Carolina Hurricanes’ Stanley Cup celebrations, but he did not think it was a big deal. After all, the Stanley Cup has collected many dents, scratches, and stories from championship celebrations over the years.

Jarvis was then asked what winning the Stanley Cup means to him personally and what it means to the city of Raleigh.

“It's everything. This is incredible. It shows how much of a hockey city this place is, how much support we have, how many people came out. Just to enjoy this moment with these guys and this city. It's everything I could imagine."

His comments showed the huge support during the celebrations. Fans filled the streets as the Carolina Hurricanes won their first Stanley Cup since 2006, making Raleigh hockey’s center for the week.

Jarvis played a key role in Hurricanes’ championship run

The celebrations followed another strong season from Seth Jarvis, who remained one of the Carolina Hurricanes’ top offensive players.

The 24-year-old played 71 regular-season games in 2025–26 and recorded 66 points, including 32 goals. He continued his strong play in the playoffs, scoring four goals and adding seven assists for 11 points in 19 games as Carolina worked its way to the Stanley Cup title.

Jarvis has also become one of the most entertaining personalities in the Hurricanes’ locker room. During the parade, he appeared on ESPN’s SportsCenter and jokingly said that he spent the days after winning the Stanley Cup resting instead of celebrating.

“I don’t party,” Jarvis quipped before later adding, “Thank you, I got media training.”

The joke made people laugh, but it also showed how happy the Carolina Hurricanes are. After spending years trying to win the Stanley Cup, the players are enjoying every moment of a championship summer that fans in Raleigh will remember for generations.
